No commercial School is Complete Today Without its Quota of Woodstock Typewriters
Rarely in the history of the typewriter business has any machine made such remarkable strides in so short a time as the Woodstock during the past year.
Ever since the Woodstock Company was founded,more than a decade ago, it has made steady, conservative progress, depending mainly for its sales on the merits of the machine itself and the “word of mouth” advertising of satisfied users.
The officials of the company were confident that any typewriter as fundamentally sound and efficient as the Woodstock was bound to make a nname in the business world; but they thought it would be wise to let this machine first prove itself over a period of years before going into national advertising in a big way.
With the development of the electrically powered Woodstock Electrite it was felt the time had come to “tell the world” the Woodstock story -and the present extensive national advertising campaign was begun.
Everywhere results from this advertising can be seen. Sales are showing a gratifying increase, both on the Electrite and the standard machine. And with these growing sales naturally there comes a greater need for trained Woodstock operators, a demand which is bound to show a corresponding increase year after year.
You can’t afford to overlook a factor of such importance to your students. If the Woodstock is not adequately represented in your school, now is the time to make the needed installations or replacements. Write for details of our special offer.
Ohio State High School Championship Won on the Woodstock
In the Ohio State High School Championship Contest, held at Bowling Green State Normal College, May 2, 1925, Woodstock Typewriters were used both by the winner, Miss Ottilia Noss and the “runnerup,” Miss Agnes Salzgeber. Miss Noss’ net score was 70.2 words per minute, while Miss Salzgeber’s was 69 words.
These records are quite remarkable when you consider that they were made not by professional “champions,”but by amateurs 15 and 16 years old-girls who have had comparatively little experience in typing. Both were trained in Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Cleveland, Ohio. White the Woodstock Company has no paid operators entering typewriter contests it recognizes the value of such events in promoting efficiency and is always glad to encourage them.
Woodstock Wins European Perfection Championship
In the typewriter contests for the Championship of Europe held recently in Paris,M. Triouleyre operating a standard Woodstock machine won the Championship for the fastest and best work. This is the fourth consecutive year this honor has come to the Woodstock and each time it has been won by a different operator.
It is significant, too, that in each contest, except the first the winner was competing against operators who had previously won the Championship with the Woodstock and who lost when using other machines. Some of the leading Woodstock users in France are the Paris City Schools, the Pigier School(300 machines), Michelin & Company, tire manufacturers, (76 machines), the Mutuelle Generale Francaise du Mans, (more than 80 machines), the Societe Generale des Huiles de Petrole (76 machines) and scores of other internationally known concerns.
Woodstock Electrite 5 o’clock let’s go
Here is an example of the Woodstock national advertising. This ad in colors will appear shortly in the American Magazine, as well as similar ads in the Literary Didest and the Saturday Evening Post, (with a combined circulation of over 6,000,000). This starts our fall campaign.
